No, I haven’t, but it sounds right up my alley. Thanks for the heads up on it, I’m off to go check it out right now.

Bugen, best of luck getting that maelstrom tamed, and great to hear new vids may be forthcoming!

Mike: Ross McDonald is another crime fiction master, like Leonard, who I never seem to have read much of. I was /am too busy reading Gold Medal, et al., authors (and noir classics like Cain, Woolrich, McCoy, etc.) and obscure vintage paperback authors, to the detriment of the masters, though I have read quite a bit of Chandler and Hammett.

Dave: I’ve read a good number of MacDonald’s books, but progressively find that his work hasn’t aged particularly well, especially the McGee novels. Some of his standalones still hold up well, though, and his GOOD OLD STUFF collections are great.

If you haven't read John D. MacDonald's Travis McGee series, you should look into those books too.
I actually like Ross MacDonald better!

Glad to hear it, Ron. You've got crime nailed down better than I, but smart money says you're going to love this set!

p.s. I'm gearing back up for videos and reviews, finally reading again. My life has been a maelstrom lately, and an old buddy is still in jail over some recent events. NO, I didn't do anything. But this guy became a tornado like I've never seen--never even heard of--and a great deal of time has gone into dealing with the fiasco.

Perhaps a little non-fiction writing is in order...

Unfortunately I don't see Bugen around here much anymore and he hasn't posted a new YouTube video review in quite a while , but if you are lurking out there, wanted to let you know that your video finally pushed me over the edge, and this will be arriving today:

As much of a reader as I am of crime fiction, I'm woefully ill-read when it comes to Leonard's work, so this should be a great remedy for that. Thanks for the push.
Working...
