After being nominated to do so, I’m starting a seven-day challenge of showing off vintage noir covers. If that’s your thing, I’ll give the links here for the first two days, and those interested can keep an eye on my Twitter account for the next five covers.

A very deserved mention — thanks, Hunter. I drop by there from time to time, and the reserve of material they have is just incredible. Easy to get lost for hours if you’re not careful.

No sweat, Cap -- glad to help. Hope you find the kind of book you're looking for.

It's a fantastic collection, though text/history does take a fairly sizeable backseat to the full-color art...not a bad thing and there is some history included, but do be aware it's more an art book than a history analysis of this pulp niche.

I once had a small book focusing on the work of one artist from that general era which I enjoyed, but I did not keep that book. Thanks for posting this Ron--I really do appreciate it, I am looking for something more history oriented. I'm not surprised there appears on the surface to not be much printed history about these magazines. Cap

Yeah, it’s a great book. I have a couple-dozen nonfiction books that explore the pulp era, and this is one of my favorites.

Whenever I handle this thing, I'm so pleased that I have a copy of it. I mean, Kolchak + Matheson = cool x 1000.

I grabbed a copy of this after seeing your tweet. It's not what I expected, which is 100% no me because it's exactly what the description says.

Regardless, a very neat little book.
