I've been told that I'll be about to post the full TOC this spring when the last stories have arrived and my understanding is that the collectors AND general readers should be VERY pleased. It's been a long time coming, but it is going to be one hell of an anthology! Thanks again to everyone who has shown so much patience!

thanks for all of the updates, brian. i totally understand where you're coming from. i pre-ordered the fancy s/l edition back in the day as well and can't wait to see it. i know you'll do a great job with it. and i don't think there's anything wrong with having standards and trying to get it right. that's why we love CD. that's why we're all still here. a great community, gifted authors, and a press that knows what it's doing and does a fantastic job. look forward to the book! i have a place on the shelf ready for it next to all of the other wonderful CD titles i've purchased over the years.

This is a title I may consider also. It's been on my "wow, this really sounds awesome" list since I joined up here in October.

I feel sorry for you guys now. I may be wrong but I've always assumed one of the reasons you announced early was that you were so excited about the books. Now you have to keep all the awesome news to yourself, that must be hard. Well you can always tells me, I'll keep it secret.

As I know this will be true, I don't mind the wait at all!

Thanks, and no worries! This project has been on my To Do list every week in some form or fashion for the last couple of years, but a lot of the work has been stuff we don't like to publicize, so we have NOT posted as many updates as we should have, which can definitely create frustration because it looks like there's no movement. I totally understand that. (An example: we almost NEVER name names when signature sheets are "stuck" or someone owes us something and hasn't turned it in. Some presses do because they figure the public pressure will "help" get things done, but we tend to understand that "life happens" and we don't want to embarrass someone because they've gotten overwhelmed.) So I might have talked to an author this morning, and he said, "It's really coming this time!" but I'm not going to post details, you know?

But I completely understand why anyone might be frustrated at this point. It's been a fairly frustrating book for me, too. I do think this will be a tremendous book that readers and collectors will love, though!

No need to apologize! We're the ones who have made everyone wait way too long for this book... but our end goal of making it the best book it can be should make ALL of us very happy in the end!

By the way, here's the good news: the next time we do one of these big anthologies, you won't have to worry about waiting years and years because the book will already be in production when it's announced. That'll be so much better for everyone. We do learn our lessons... eventually! ha!
