Hi Folks!

Today we’re pleased to announce we’ve launched a completely revamped Cemetery Dance official website (http://www.cemeterydance.com):

http://www.cemeterydance.com/images/newsletter/websitefrontpage.jpg

Just a few of the improved features include:

* easier checkout and more shipping options based on where you live

* easier navigation, larger cover images, and more information about each product… with more excerpts, book trailers, and author interviews in the works for the near future!

* our brand new Production Updates page where we post the latest news about each of our announced projects as they travel the road to their publication

* a “Current Specials” page where we’ll list all of the “public” specials that are available at any given time (but there will still be “secret” specials just for members of our mailing lists!)

* a brand new Message Board / Forum for Cemetery Dance customers, collectors, authors, artists, and fans:

http://www.cemeterydance.com/images/newsletter/messageboard.jpg

* plus hundreds of other tweaks and improvements to make it easier for you to find what you’re looking for!

We’re still working out some little bugs, but the site is now LIVE and ready for orders, so please feel free to look around and kick the tires and send your feedback to: brianfreeman@cemeterydance.com. There might even be a special or two already on the “Current Specials” page.

Please Note: Your login and password information from the old website should still work when you go to checkout. In fact, you should be able to use your email address OR your original login. If you have any trouble, just email brianfreeman@cemeterydance.com and he’ll help you out! (Some customers had several logins and that will need fixed before your next order, but it’s a quick fix. Just contact Brian if you have trouble.)

I agree - the new site looks great. Probably will draw even more of my income away from me. Unless I misunderstood, it appears you need a different registration from the ordering side of the website to post here. You might want to make that at bit more clear when describing this new portion of the site. Also - in the login process - Stephen Edwin King has a middle name which would be part of his initials. ;-) But using all three letters is considered invalid and it resets parts of the form which you then have to re-enter. Just a small frustration.

I knew someone was going to point out the middle initial. I'll go adjust the question so that it says from his "Published" name. I'd add the middle initial, but there would be way to many combinations as I would need to set it for all the combinations of capital and lower case letters. I'll talk to Brian about describing that you need a different registration for the forums somewhere and where to put that description. Sorry for any frustration.

Thanks for all the positive feedback everyone! We've put a ton of work into the site over the past month, with a heavy emphasis on the past 3 days (especially Kate and Brian). I'm really pleased with how the look of the site has turned out. I'm still fine tuning the style on the forums, so let me know if you find anything that doesn't quite work (like missing buttons or text the same color as the background). I think we've caught most of the glitches, but now I have 66+ beta testers to scoure the boards for me :p

Are there any plans to make existing outstanding orders available in Order History, or will that only be for orders raised on the new site. Not having on-line access to all my pre-orders is the one thing that has always been lacking from CD, particularly as some of them are so old. It would great if this was rectified.

This is what Brian said, answering practically the same question on another message board. I hope it helps.

We're working on two different projects on that front:

* transferring the data from the old site, although we're not 100% sure it's going to work.

* finally being able to "push" updates from our Order Management System back up to the customer account

Both are works in progress that we couldn't test until the site was live.

If you have any questions about what you have on order in the meantime, email Mindy, Kate, or myself because we can send you a PDF listing all of your pending orders, along with helpful updates on where they stand in production if you want!

After spending a few days adjusting, I think this is an instance where I fully support the update. The previous version was becoming a little boring to look at and it had changed very little since at least 2007 when I first found it.

Overall, the layout is clear and crisp, much easier to find things. And above all else, the message board idea is great. Because of that addition, CD is going to become one of a few sites I make sure to check every day.

I definitely love the updated web site. Maybe I overlooked it, but I was looking to write a review of a book I recently purchased (King Blood) but I could not find the link to leave a review on the purchase page. Other than that, awesome, awesome job!

Is it possible with the new website to see the shipping costs for one or more items? I think I remember reading something about that, but I'm not sure. Maybe I misread it.

I think to see the shipping costs you actually have to go through the checkout process, to the point where it asks you to choose your shipping method. At this point in time I do not believe that there's a way to view it prior to that.

Yeah, there currently is not a way for customers to post reviews yet because we couldn't bring all of the reviews over from the old site, and we didn't have a chance to look into how to set-up the new site to have that feature, but it's on the list!

That's correct. We looked at ways to show your shipping total so far on the shopping cart page before you start to check out, but because there are now different shipping options depending on what you're ordering (USPS vs UPS, for example), there wasn't a good way to display a shipping option/cost until during the checkout process.

But the site *can* finally display shipping estimates for Non-US customers, which I think will make some of our customers VERY happy. :)

If you have any questions about anything with the new site, definitely fire away! We're still making tweaks and looking for bugs, and we have a running list of things we want to improve or add. Thanks!

Love the new website and the forum but have two points:
1. Thew News tab on the website appears to try to go to the old website.
2. When you enter a conversation on the forum it starts you at the beginning, if there are multiple pages you then have to jump to the last page if you want to see the recent comments.
