Brian, Dan, any timeframe fro when slipcases for 11/22/63 will be ready? I've got a copy just begging for one!!!

Dan Hocker

I'm not 100% sure on that. It could be awhile though, I know we sent copies up for sizing and what not, but we haven't seen a sample case yet. Production time (assuming they aren't busy, which they are as we're approaching the holiday season.) I usually 5 week from when we see the sample case. I'll ask Brian if he has a better idea, as he actually deals with the case manufacturer, and I do not.

We're aiming for February or March, will post a better update when I know for sure!

I'm still looking for a traycase I missed out on: the one CD produced for Under the Dome.
If anyone here's got a spare, or knows where to find one...Thanks!

Today is your lucky day my friend. As the very last Under the Dome tray case is sitting all of 3 feet away from me and it doesn't belong to anyone.

The approval unit for the slipcase for the US trade hardcover arrived today. It looks awesome and fits perfectly. Please note that the approval case does NOT have the hot foil stamping, but I thought you might like a sneak peek:

http://cemeterydance.com/images/misc/112263USslipcaseapproval.jpg (http://www.cemeterydance.com/page/CDP/PROD/x_cases003)

Several people have asked if this will fit the US Limited Edition. We are trying to get a copy of that edition here at the office to do a test fitting ASAP. I do not want to say it'll fit until we know for sure.

The approval unit for the 11/22/63 UK slipcase arrived as well, but they forgot to send back the book and our other copies haven't arrived yet. Hopefully I'll have the book on Monday to approve the sizing, etc. I will post a photo of that case at that time.

Nice! If I had a signed edition I would go for that case, but as I'll only have the trade I'll stick with the slipcase.

It'd be close. The books are the same thickness, however the US hardcover version is a bit taller and a bit deeper. So I'm not sure it'd be a good fit.

Dan,

Please refresh my memory: Did you guys also do a slipcase for the UTD U.S. 1st edition? If so, do you have any extras laying around? If so, please PM me (here or at TDT.org). I'd love to pick one up for my signed copy.

However unlikely, if you find any more UTD traycases, I call dibs!

Thanks.

Hey Patrick,

We did do a slipcase for the UTD trade edition. However I only have a slipcase left for the UTD gift / deluxe edition (the one that came with the cards)

The approval slipcase for the UK trade edition of 11/22/63 has now been test fitted with the book. I thought you might like to see the color/look of the case, but please note that this sample does NOT have the Hot Foil stamping:

Is the TRAYCASE for 11/22/63 around the corner as well?

That will be further out, as we had to use a different case maker than the company that's making the slipcases. The volume we needed was just too low for them to produce the cases economically.

Not yet. Different vendor for those and he's still plodding along on the traycase for The Strain lettered edition. (But at least it isn't the guy who does the regular traycases, who is years behind...)

Well of course they're actual books not something to place the book in. And I had to buy him something for his birthday, I may as well enjoy it too. the Artist edition is because its technically the First print and prettier than the Trade. I have my justifications. I don't own 11/22/63 yet either. It's being given to me when the boyfriend gets home cuz his sister in law said I can have hers after she reads it and its not like my other firsts have special cases, hell some of em dont even have dust jackets which I am quite disappointed about.

srboone
03-08-2012, 04:15 AM

I got one only because my copy is signed.

Something about the only selling US versions to US customers and UK versions to UK countries. I got one with my ticket to see him in Dallas. i tried to get one online, but my fingers didn't work fast enough....

Teriw

So where does that leave canadians? No signed copies at all except paying out the ass for second hand copies

srboone
03-08-2012, 04:30 AM
Well, I assumed that you would be able to UK editions shipped to you. Just write your Prime Minister and tell him you're fed up and Canada should become part of the US! It'll make getting US editions easier and will probably not take as long as getting some shipped over seas!

Teriw
03-08-2012, 04:33 AM
All of the UK editions I have come across so far from publishers have been faximiles. Which are just stupid. There was however a UK TWTTK that grant posted but I couldn't afford almost $600 for it.

I have two slipcases coming my way, for my signed first I got at the JFK library and for my S/L I got for Christmas (USA! USA! USA!). I couldn't justify $50 for a traycase, though. And just to fan the flames a bit, outside of the Dark Tower, I think 11/22/63 is probably my favorite SK book.

Damn it. I was as fast as I could going to the website today intending on ordering one when it turns up a page which says the product is not available. When it's down to the last 10 or 15 copies it can go pretty fast!!

Anyways, although I know these were produced in limited quantities only, is there a chance that you guys might make more of them?

Thanks in advance for answering.

Dan Hocker

It's doubtful that we'll make more, unless the demand is that high. Truthfully we probably should have pulled the slipcases from the site a couple days ago. I think we'll be refunding some people as our inventory counts didn't take into account damages.

Ah, too bad then. I really like the book. Guess I will have to measure out the dimensions and build myself a cheap slipcase from easy to find materials (i.e. cheap cardboards) :o

Hi Dan, Brian, and Mindy,

I know it's a longshot, but if you guys run across any extras of your 11/22/63 slipcase, I would love to buy one for my signed 1st edition 11/22/63!

If any members here decided to upgrade to the CD traycase and therefore want to sell their CD 11/22/63 slipcase, I'm interested.

Thanks.
