I got this over the weekend. It has a rather interesting provenance. This is a manuscript that was sent from Ralph M. Vincinanza's office (King's agent at the time. He passed away suddenly in 2010.) to a Dutch publisher. The publisher donated it to a Dutch Stephen King fan group which sold it. The eventual owner then sold it to me.

My latest purchase is the forum grab (my first CD grab bag too!). Really....since I discovered CD in October, my book purchases have increased. I only have one outstanding order now. I am sure that there will be more in the very near future though. As far as latest purchase that arrived - it was items from the dinged book sale, as well as a ARC that showed up the other day.

Man, tough decisions to make now. Have a $50 certificate to use wherever I want and not sure what I get right now, lol. If I was interested in more titles from Dark Regions I'd be tempted to get their doomsday stocking deal, but there are too many things there I have no interest in for me to risk it. Tempted to go to Barnes and Noble and get their HC edition of Jurassic Park/The Lost World, but not sure what else to get. Would have even more money to spend on stuff, but still waiting to get money I have been waiting on. May end up waiting on Jurrasic Park/The Lost World in favor of something else too.

Thanks to my library, I spent a few dollars this past week and got about twenty of the "Executioner" paperbacks; a paperback of the first print of "The Green Mile" as an all-in-one volume; a first print of the paperback "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon"; and a paperback (can't tell which printing) of "Come Out Tonight" by Richard Laymon.

The only drawback to library sales is the stupid pinkish-purple tags they put on the spines of the books to indicate price, but with a little work I can usually get them off without doing damage.

Two really nice additons to my collection. Andrew Klavan's A Killer in the Wind, well just a fantastic read. If you like horror that's real world people driven, this one is for you. It will give You the creeps. So good. On the fantasy side, The Troupe, Robert Jackson Bennett, has started out well. I like the atmosphere of it.

Ron came through with The Dark ‘Un. I think this set is going to look great once it’s completed. My big find! A very good 1st edition on The Stand. The book is in great, considering the crap paper that DoubleDay printed it on. The dust jacket is slightly better than fair. Call it fair plus, complete but pretty chipped up. Found it on the shelf of a Salvation Army Store for $2.00. I almost walked past it, well I actually did because it was mixed in with children’s books. Then I thought it might be a book club copy, but luck was with me. I found a copy of Carrie the same way. Not a big SK collector, but I’ve always liked this book. Probably my favorite after ‘Salems Lot. Made my day!!

Well so far it is 2 misses for me with him, but I can tell he has the talent. It just drawn me in yet, but maybe I wasn't in the right mood for the stories at the time. I may reread one of them at some point and see if I like it better. Worms seems like it might be a good story, though it initially makes of Brian Keene's Conqueror Worms/Earthworm Gods, though I know it is different.

In all likelihood I will download Worms at the end of the month and see how I like it. His next one from Darkfuse sounds good too, but dunno if I'll get it if I don't care for Worms

So...Kobo had another trivia contest. Answer the question right, get a coupon code from 10-75% off, then entered into a draw for a new e-reader plus $$$.

Anyways.....this time around I picked up the following: Voyeurs of Death by Jeffrey, The Tent by KPB, Caspak series by Edgar Rice Burroughs, The Stickmen by Ed Lee, and Flatland by Edwin H Abbot.

That should keep me busy - so many e-books I haven't read yet. :)

Picked up the six vol set published by Gregg press in the 1970's. They used the same cover art on all six volumes!! That wouldn't fly today. The weren't in fine condition, in fact I had to rehinge three of them, but they were a pretty good price. I always liked fritz Leiber's stuff. Anyway, they are interesting!! Have a great Long weekend,

I don't have The Dark Man ordered, but from everything I have read in the past, I would recommend removing the shrinkwrap from the book so it doesn't end up damaging it long term.

It's been a while since I posted on this, so I have recently gotten:

The Crystal Spheres - David Brin
Throttle - Joe Hill and Stephen King
The Bridge - John Skipp & Craig Spector
The Last Kind Words - Tom Piccirilli
Tales From the Crossroad Volume 1
The Complete Works of Edgar Allan Poe eBook
Pillowface - Kristopher Rufty
They - J.F. Gonzalez
Beyond the Door - Jeffery Thomas
Cursed Casino - Sara Brooke
Kransen House - Sara Brooke
Still Lake - Sara Brooke
Shocking True Story - Gregg Olsen
Cold Granite - Stuart Macbride
Captive in Iran: A Remarkable True Story of Hope and Triumph amid the Horror of Tehran's Brutal Evin Prison - Maryam Rostampour & Marziyeh Amirizadeh
A few books from Jack Kilborn and JA Konrath that were on sale
The Heist - Shaun Jeffrey
Day by Day - Shaun Jeffrey
Ushers of Darkness - Greg F. Gifune
Wool (omnibus edition) - Hugh Howey
Shift (omnibus edition) - Hugh Howey

Wouldn't have gotten, but the bank had a special offer for using my card that if I made a number of small purchases I would get some money back

I also just purchased what looks like an interesting SF read - Daimones by Massimo Marino - it was the e-bargain email of the day, and was one I was thinking about before. This isn't really my latest purchase but it is something that I finally got fixed. This goes back to the subject of shrink wrap and taking it off when a book is received to check if something is wrong. I got this copy of Christine and it was missing the artist's signature (Stephen Gervais). I was able to get in touch with Steve to have him sign it. I wonder how long it took before the original owner noticed it was missing, if they even noticed before they sold it.
