This is a great contest. I'm new to this. Just read my first Stephen King book. All of these writers are really good. I'm an elderly women and i relate to the Dark Caller. Gave me goose bumps......................Yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great contest. Will you be having another one in the near future? Is this an annual event? SK forever!!

Wow, second place with an old odd story. I'll settle for that if this is how it ends.

From first to third in a heartbeat. Oh well. It was fun, and happy to have gotten a story in at the last minute. Cheers to the leader. And good luck!

The story "In the Trenches by blasko66" was pulled from the contest by it's author. If you voted for "In the Trenches by blasko66" please feel free to cast you vote elsewhere. I'll let the author explain why he pulled his story.

Seconded. In the end if you write, you do it for the love of writing. Coming first would always be a bonus, but coming second or third or fourth, fifth, six still makes you smile that someone read it. :) Considering no one has no votes, there's at least one person out of that band of 126 voters who liked your story best. Accentuate the positives.

Alright, the author said I could spill the beans. Congratulations goes out to blasko66 as his story got accepted into an anthology, which is why he asked for it to be pulled for the contest.

Congrats blasko66! Your story is well deserving and reminded me of the Dan Simmons short "The Great Lover", which I highly recommend to just about everyone based solely on his hellish description of life in those trenches.

Congratulations man. So many stories here could be published.

Ditto what Draven said. You could easily do a nice, profitable anthology with the stories finishing in 2nd and 3rd places from each group!

Thanks everyone. I've dreamed about having something published with CD but this just wasn't the right time. No better way to lose a contest than to so many amazing entries.

That avatar is frickin awesome, too! Pains me to say it, but he killed it, while Jack made it look silly.

Thank you so much everyone. Regardless of the voting results, I believe that our group was one of the tough ones because all the stories were well written and creative. It truly has been a privilege to have competed against such a talented group.

Thanks mstrom. I don't think that I did much competing but I liked your story. Best of luck in "The Finals"!

It's been fun being a group with all of you/ Congratulations to mstrom and the writer whose story was accepted for publication.

I entered on a whim, after a fellow writer in a workshop pointed it out, and I'm glad I did. I realize my take on "horror" is decidedly tamer than most of those here (I write gothic horror) and I am thrilled ten additional people voted for me. Thanks!

I hope everyone will stick around in the forums to discuss craft, challenges, opportunities etc.

Cheers,

KT
