About the Book:
Even the most diehard baseball fans don't know the true story of William "Blockade Billy" Blakely. He may have been the greatest player the game has ever seen, but today no one remembers his name. He was the first and only player to have his existence completely removed from the record books. Even his team is long forgotten, barely a footnote in the game's history.

Every effort was made to erase any evidence that William Blakely played professional baseball, and with good reason. Blockade Billy had a secret darker than any pill or injection that might cause a scandal in sports today. His secret was much, much worse... and only Stephen King, the most gifted storyteller of our age, can reveal the truth to the world, once and for all.

This original, never-before-published novella represents Stephen King at his very best, and this Lonely Road Books special edition is the only signed Limited Edition.

Limitation Information:
Limited Edition: just 350 hand-numbered copies printed on a high quality paper stock (different from any other edition) and featuring a fine leather binding, two color printing throughout the book, a color frontispiece by Glen Orbik, eleven interior illustrations by Alex McVey, a sewn-in ribbon page marker, a custom deluxe traycase with pullout ribbon, an illustrated signature sheet signed by the artists, and Stephen King's first-ever baseball card SIGNED by King as his way of signing this special edition. I leaked a bit of info on antoher board. I thought I'd post it here as well, to see if anyone can find it. My hint is for everyone to compare their signed King Cards.

If I told you that'd be cheating. Lets just say it's not on every card, everyone will have to compare theirs to find out.

Can you tell us what it is now and show us some pictures of the differences?

I don't know that I can show you a picture, as I don't think we have any of the one left. But about 1/4 of the cards have King standing in front of a different background. If I remember correctly, it's because no one could decide which image they liked better, or something like that.

There were two different photos for the SK baseball cards. One card used the original photo of King that he sent us. The other was the same photo of King, only he was photoshopped into a stock photo of Wrigley field. We couldn't find a good stock photo of Fenway that had the right perspective. :) The backs of the cards were the same. These might not be the exact final versions, but they'll give you an idea of what each card looked like:

Yea I was really hoping people would puzzle this one out, but it looks like everyone who's on the different message boards all got the same card.

Edit: Also it really freaked me out for a min when I was shipping the Blockade Billy's, as I didn't know there was supposed to be two different cards.

I might be able to post some photos of the book itself in the near future. We generally prefer to wait until we have the complete production for that, but I'll see how much progress the box maker has made in his next update!
