Hi Mike, new members of the forums are a bit limited in their posting abilities in their first 5 posts. This is to weed out the spam bots. I'll go ahead and move your account along in the process. So you should be able to post pictures now. Let me know if it's still not working.

My collecting of books is similar to Lincoln's as I collected on and off since the late 80's. Got back into it around 2001 and CD is the reason. I was looking for Dean Koontz Books and found CD's website and I haven't been the same since. I found author's I've never heard of that I like. Anyway here are some more pics. 15016150171501815019150201501915021

Mike88 - I have to take the picture of the Ukrainian Orthodox Bible I have kicking around my house - my Mom's uncle was a Ukrainian priest and after he died my Mom was left with it. Tried to donate to our local Ukrainian Orthodox church, but they did want it. It's all in Ukrainian too, and sadly, I never learned the alphabet or language from my grandmother. Even has the fancy little page markers with it.

Man, what an epic Stephen King collection, just love looking through it! I got a few questions for ya: Are most of the hardcovers first editions? In the second picture you uploaded today they're mostly repeats, but different bindings, are these the UK editions? Oddly missing is the Dark Tower series, not a fan? Last question what's the difference between the three different Under the Dome books?

Tommy

Very Nice collection!

Mike88
02-06-2015, 12:34 AM
Yes, Virtually all are 1sts. I am missing only Carrie and Night Shift. I have different cover books of Carrie, 'Salems Lot, The Shining, The Stand and Night Shift. The Tommyknockers are both 1sts. The gold and red lettered covers. Rose Madder UK editions have 2 different front pages. The 3 UK Doctor Sleep are all different as well. 1 with purple jacket exclusive to WH Smith. 1 with standard green jacket and 1 with green jacket which includes authors note from Stephen King exclusive to Waterstones.

The books with different bindings are all UK 1sts. As for the Dark Tower series. I keep them separate. I will post pics later. Under The Dome books, 1 has the white lettering on jacket, 1 has grey lettering and the 3rd is large print. I can only read large print and this one happened to be a 1st so I just put it on the shelf with the others.

Fantastic collection of limited editions. Which copy of Salem's Lot is that? Gift edition with traycase, or the signed edition? and what is that beside it?

I see a few of your books are still shrink wrapped, in my experience it's best to remove the shrink wrap, or at least cut the corners. The reason for this is because the shrink wrap will continue to contract and eventually crush the corners, this is especially noticeable with LPs but it also tends to affect books as well.

Mike88
02-21-2015, 12:27 AM
The 'Salem's Lot is the 1 of 600 Centipede Press. The traycase I bought from CD. I don't remember whether CD made the traycase and was limited to 100 copies or they received 100 copies elsewhere. It's HUGE. On the left side
of "Salem's Lot is My Pretty Pony and the other is Ned Dameron's art portfolio of The Waste Lands. I will post pics of the prints later. I usually do take the shrink off. Once they are on the shelf I tend to forget about it. That will be tended to. Thanks Theli. 1643716438

Mike88

Those are ARC's. I am selling most of my collection. So I thought I would share the ones that are going first. My last pics will be the books that I am keeping.

It's a shame to break up a collection, but you gotta do what is right. Good luck with the sale.

I was going to start to post pics of my Anthology Collection then I remembered this one. It'pretty cool.197781977919780 The book is signed by Wayne Allen Sallee. It is in like brand new condition as if it was printed yesterday. I think it was Wayne's personal book. Check out Christa Faust's "signature". SWAK Signed With A Kiss. I have seen 2 other of these books and she actually signed them. So who knows. I just think it's pretty cool.

I had to sell my collection once, many years ago when I was working my way through school. It was a tough blow, but now, many years later, I have a better collection than I could've ever imagined. I hope it works out the same way for you!

I really hate this for you, brother that you're having to sell your collection. You were a great mentor when I started the collecting thing and became a good friend. I'm sorry to say that you haven't received much back in return on my end. I did email ya at the AT&T addy if it's still good. If not, please shoot me a PM with the correct one. Thanks!

Mike emailed saying he was having problems uploading photos so he asked me to post these along with a note from him. I've already advised him to have Jeff make him a case :) In the process, I also discovered why he was unable to upload the photos. There were too big so I resized them and here we go.

Mike: I have not posted in a long time so Hello everybody.I Received 3 books from CD ON THE SAME DAY how cool is that! Anyway here are the pics as you can see The Exorcist is bigger than Detours and that is a 7 x 10 book. I did not have to pay for the exorcist and detours was paid for 3 years ago. I got extremely lucky. does anyone know where I can get a slipcase that big? (for the exorcist).

I need to make a slight detour Hello To my friends Brian & Jason. I'm so happy it all worked out.

See Ya
