Well I got my first order from CD in the mail and figured it was about time I started a collection page of my own. The top ones were previously posted in the new purchases thread. New additions are at the end.

Noticed a little typo on the spine of the tray case, unfortunately I couldn't really get a good picture of it. It says 40th Anniversar instead of 40th Anniversary. Are all of them like that?

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y265/Therionfan/booksandcomics011.jpg (http://s7.photobucket.com/user/Therionfan/media/booksandcomics011.jpg.html)
John Russo's Undead is signed, the hard cover Grave Tales 6 is not signed.

Thanks much for hooking me up Dan!

I'll add more as I get time to photograph my meagre collection.

Love the comics.
Me too! ha ha, House of Secrets 92 is like the holy grail of comics for me, one of my favourite writers (Len Wein), one of favourite artists (Mr. Wrightson) and the inception of one of my favourite characters (Moore's run on Swamp Thing is untouchable). Now I just have to pick up a better quality copy somewhere down the road.

Thanks for the comments everyone, I hope to add a few more pics of my collection over the weekend if I have time.

Great stuff. Comics are super. Nice to see a new collection. I am getting sick of Squires BnN thread.:p. Not really. Wish I had more time to go to BnN. Great Jack Ketchum book and you have The Chosen by Ed Lee that is on my wish list.

A couple more cool ones from my collection:

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y265/Therionfan/MathesonandDanielewski001.jpg (http://s7.photobucket.com/user/Therionfan/media/MathesonandDanielewski001.jpg.html)

And that's pretty much it for my signed materials, other than a slew of comic books, which I may add a couple on here. I'll photograph my book shelves once I have it a little better organized, to many books to little shelf space.

I had really wanted to get Walls of the Castle s/l hard cover, it has a bunch of amazing interior art. Unfortunately it sold out to fast. This one was free so I can't complain :D

I'm a sucker for haunted house stories, I read one every October. Last year's was David Annandale's Gethsemane Hall. I'll probably hold off on reading Crooked House 'til then, but we shall see.

Picked up a copy of the Silmarillion that seems to be a first edition for $2. It has a publication date of 1977, has two print errors; one on p.330 and one on p.352. the only thing is someone stamped their name in it. Otherwise it's in good condion.

Richard Matheson's Blood Lines

I was debating between getting this and the Easton Press printing of I Am Legend, but I finally saw this one for a reasonable price and had to jump on it. I like the addition of the scripts for Dracula and I Am Legend too, and prefer to have it signed. One more book coming in the mail, then I'm done buying for the next while (other than pre-ordered stuff). Just moved in to a new place, so money will be a little tighter for a while.

Some new additions arrived Friday:

Brian Keene's Castaways, bound in burlap, Bloodletting Press:

I don't know why, but I've come to love unique or textured endpapers.

Couldn't really get a good picture, but it had some nice interior art, and even more black and white art throughout.

Got something new in the mail today, my first Easton Press book, The Complete Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe:

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y265/Therionfan/DSC00253.jpg (http://s7.photobucket.com/user/Therionfan/media/DSC00253.jpg.html)

Though it wasn't damaged (other than a minor scuff at the top of some of the pages) I was not impressed with the packaging. A cardboard box with no protective wrapping, other than shrink wrap, and part of the book exposed.

Still waiting on my copy of The Dark Man, I was hoping it would arrive this week, but if not maybe early next.

Just be aware that Campbell wrote the stories in 'The Inhabitant of the Lake' when he was only 16(!). There is some interesting stuff in it, but best to read his more contemporary work first, if you're new to him.

More to come in the following weeks. I tried to pick up many of the key books, which makes me happy that The Rising was reissued because the original went for a decent amount. World War Z is on preorder and I'll get around to the Zombie Survival Guide next time CD has a sale.

It's quite a bit more expensive than Still Dead and Mondo Zombie. I was outbid on a lettered copy of Mondo Zombie, still going for a more than decent price. We'll see what my money situation in January is like, The Book of the Dead may require a purchase. I also don't know if Pet Sematary would count as zombie fiction, but I can't wait to add PS publishing's limited edition to my collection when it's released.

The Maelstrom sets always come in group of 3, with matching numbers, THunderstorm sells the set for $125, which is actually a pretty killer price. This is the 4th set, each set comes with a re-print of a popular Keene novel, a new Keene novella, and a novel by less known authors is selected by Brian Keene to be included as well. Here's some pics of the Fog for ya T-Dogz. It has interior art, but all of it is the same art as the cover, just sectioned and closer up. It has more than these, but I just took a few shots. It also features a new foreword by Herbert and afterword by Campbell, in addition to two short stories, but I forgot to check which they were while I was at my house (at my apartment now). Actually, it isn't necessarily a reprint, just one novel sized book and one novella sized from Keene. The authors of the 3rd book from this years' set is well known, but the other 3 are a little less well known. I am surprised that this year's Maelstrom didn't sell out quicker than it did, given how big F. Paul Wilson is! He is so popular it took me a long time to be able to add him as a friend on Facebook because he was maxed out! Saw he was at 1 below max last week and jumped on the opportunity, lol! I am actually surprised it was a big name like F Paul. I guess Sara Pinborough is lesser known, but having F Paul's name associated with it as well more than makes up for her being less known, lol. May dive into that book after I finish my Goodreads win that I just got in the mail.

Oh, and if you look at the copyright pages of the Maelstrom books they'll let you know which Maelstrom set they're from and which number book it is in the sets. Not something important, but I find it to be a nice touch for my organization purposes.

Got another Lansdale book on Monday. Was hoping to get it before Christmas, but I guess that was farfetched. PS publishings Holiday Chapbook #6: Joe R. Lansdale's Christmas With the Dead, art courtesy of Glenn Chadbourne.

I never even heard of this book until you posted it! Just managed to find a copy on Ebay and ordered it. I love PS, but everytime I try to make an overseas purchase, my bank red flags it, declines the charge, and freezes my account. It's a pain in the butt.

That is actually a good thing, as it helps protect you from bad people being able to make fraudulent charges. I would suggest talking to your bank about allowing that one single company not be flagged. That sucks it gets flagged, but good that your bank keeps a watch out for fraudulent activity

Well I am glad I could help point out something new for you! I actually just got mine on ebay, if you keep your eyes open you get a copy for pretty cheap. Mine was only $18 + shipping. I actually just made a purchase from the same seller. For those of you who have been paying attention to the Stephen King s/l thread, three guesses what my latest order is ;)

Those are all great books! I agree about Timber Gray, it is one great looking book. The Bitter Ale line from Thunderstorm is very similar but in black instead of brown. Very nice of Paul to throw in the extra book. He did that for me a while back as well. My wife made a comment recently that the books I buy are expensive, but the customer service I've gotten from the small press publishers (CD, Thunderstorm, etc) is fantastic. I have to agree with her!

Nice haul. Love the Ronald Kelly stuff. I also checked my copy of Vampiric and Vampiric Rites. Both signature sheets are short also in my copy of Ray Garton' s Slivers of Bone the signature sheet is short. So it was done for all of them that way. I will look through the rest of the books that were published that year to see if it was like that for every book. I know that was a rough time for CD.

Another nice addition arrived in the mail today, 1990 Alfred Knopf first signed/slipcased edition of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles . A very classy edition, love the deckled pages. Wish it was leatherbound though. Easton Press has a beautiful leatherbound edition of the first 5 novels, with Interview being signed, but it is damn pricey, so beggars can't be choosers and I will be happy with this wonderful edition, besides in this edition all 3 books are signed.

The seller had put a sticker on the protective mylar covering that said 'signed', kind of annoying, but at least it's not on the book itself. I peeled them off, but it left a residue. I'll have to get Goo Gone or Goof Off to remove it.

At least they put a protective cover on the books, but yeah still a bit annoying.

^Just finished The Interview With The Vampire a little less than a month ago, a bit of a slog at times, but really rewarding at others. I do like Ms. Rice's flowery language and use of imagery.

Picked up a few books at a book sale a couple weekends ago. A couple vampire novels for the collection, a couple novels I have been meaning to read for a long time, a couple anthologies and the screenplay for the Dracula stage play from the early 1900.

Got a few hardcovers too. Already had the Donaldson books, but I like having a uniform hardcover set. I assume these are from a book club, because I have another hardcover first ed. of The Power That Preserves and it is taller (and way more beaten up). Also picked up I Shudder At Your Touch a cool anthology which I mainly grabbed for the Barker and King stories, but I must admit the titillating title makes it hard to resist.

I am hoping, Really hoping, that CD release a super deluxe 35th Anniversary edition of Ghost Story this year. That I would jump on before you could say "BOO!!" ;) :o :p

'Hill House' did a limited edition, back in the 80's.
I have the UK 1st edition, which has a really nice wrap-around dust jacket.

Yeah, I would love to get a nice L/E to read of Ghost Story.

Got a couple more nice books in the mail this week:
Brian Lumley's Fly-By-Nights. This is my 3rd Lumley book with Eggleton art, signed by both, leatherbound, textured endpapers, limited of 250, and I got #1 :D

And as I mentioned elsewhere, I got; Tobe Hooper's 'Salem's Lot: Studies in the Horror Film, in the mail today. Sewn paperback, with high end glossy paper stock, unsigned, but limited of 3000. I would love the hardcover, but couldn't justify laying down $250 for it, hell even $40 for a paperback is a bit, but once it arrived I know it was worth it. I actually saved a bit ordering from Amazon, $35, no shipping, but I sort of paid for it in the end, it has a few bumps and crinkles from being shipped in an envelope.

^I think it was worth it. Be wary who you buy from. It might be worth the extra cost to get a book that is in better shape.

I got a couple more books in the mail, one of which is an all time favourite.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y265/Therionfan/Books/photo225.jpg (http://s7.photobucket.com/user/Therionfan/media/Books/photo225.jpg.html)

Quite possibly my favourite vampire story, and one that started many of the vampire myths still used today. A Leatherbound, illustrated edition of Carmilla and the Evil Guest (which I have not read), signed by the artists and contributors.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y265/Therionfan/Books/photo113-1.jpg (http://s7.photobucket.com/user/Therionfan/media/Books/photo113-1.jpg.html)

Love the art on the end papers:

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y265/Therionfan/Books/photo313-1.jpg (http://s7.photobucket.com/user/Therionfan/media/Books/photo313-1.jpg.html)

Unfortunately not all the art is that nice. This is the cover of the paperback version, printed here on glossy stock. The picture sucks, but it works for the best because the face is ugly!

Fortunately though some of the art is from Mr. Chadbourne, and I actually think this is some of his best work yet.

I also got CD's deluxe illustrated edition of F. Paul Wilson's Midnight Mass. I have one other book of his, it was written with Sarah Pinborough, and came in one of Thunderstorm's sets, but this is really the first of his books I have gone out of my way to track to down and read. I am really looking forward to it.

I had purchased The Strain from an ebayer, and the weekend after I purchased it he sent me an e-mail apologizing for the late shipping and that he was just sending it out (I think I had only bought it on Thursday or Friday). I told him it didn't matter to me, a few days made no difference. Nonetheless he said he threw in a cool bonus as an apology so to be careful while opening it. Of course it arrived posthaste, not late at all, actually faster than other orders I made earlier. And what a sweet bonus it was! Our very own Brian James Freeman's Weak and Wounded. I had been wanting to pick up a book of his, but unfortunately CD was sold out of all of Brian's hardcovers, so I figured I'd wait for the next. This will tide me over 'till then!

I have to say, every time I get another Sub. Press book I am always astounded at the quality of art within. Not to say that CD or others don't, but Sub. Press really stand out as having some of the best original art in their books.
