I have way too many books, but I do take good care of them, I keep them in a dark, cool environment, with Mylar on all the dust jackets and never read the limited/signed editions I have but rather borrow or buy cheap PB's of those Limiteds, I've been collecting since I was ten or eleven when I noticed all these strange, kinda creepy covers on my older sister's shelf by a man named Stephen King, it was not until Full Dark, No Stars and Cemetery Dance's Limited Edition of it that I realized that such collectibles are out there, now I am obsessed and have been collecting signed trade and signed/limiteds since, Thanks CD for kicking my mania into high gear! :)

My picture taking is not the best but I will try to add better shots of the rarer items later on but for now...

A signed Thomas Harris novel, I am very jealous! Is your Silence of the Lambs a first edition?

It sure is, was not cheap but wasn't the most expensive one out there either, the only provenance I have is an auction receipt when it was sold by Bonham's and Butterfield's, the page backs are a little dirty but otherwise it's in nice shape, had to get it, one of my favorite books and movies, a rare trick to pull off but I think the movie is even better than the book

you are in for quite a shock, proceed with caution, I've read Header, The Pig and the House, The Bighead, A Portrait of the Pyschopath as a Young Woman, The Minotauress, The Tertaologist (with Wrath James White), Mangled Meat, Brain Cheese Buffet, You are My Everything and some other short stories and he is one sick puppy! he balances the extremes of his material with a great, twisted sense of humor

Great titles. Never heard of Damned before lookd like one tofind.

That one is another Necro release and I've actually only read the Ed Lee story from it because it was included in another anthology, I learn from Dave at Necro Publishing that there is not a PB version planned because so many of the stories have been included in other anthologies so that is the only edition, the pics I took don't do the DJ justice, they also did a deluxe limited edition that came inside a little cage making the whole thing look like the gates of hell,

Thank you! The lip stamps were for Tell-All book tour, I may be wrong but from what I've read, starting with Diary each book tour has had it's own particular stamps, in some cases like Snuff, Rant and Haunted there are two different stamps, I've never seen the stamps for Diary, they are getting up there in price
I wish Ellis would write more books and leave Hollywood alone for a while, he's still one of my favorites though

Very jealous of anyone experiencing Palahniuk for the first time, my favorites are Invisible Monsters, Survivor and Fight Club and the short stories "Guts" and "Exodus" in Haunted

Guts was my first Palahnuik experience. I spent the next few nights staring at the drain in the deep end of the swimming pool in the hotel thinking...oooouuuuuucccccchhhhhh.....

haha, I used to avoid swimming pools because of the chlorine but that wonderful story gave me a whole new reason, it might just be my favorite horror short story ever simply for the response it elicits from readers upon their first reading, very potent indeed

You won't be disappointed, I felt the whole thing would have benefited greatly from editing out some of the weaker stories but the ones that do work are ones you'll never forget, it is being made into a film and I am VERY interested to see how some of those stories are handled

The part that is really creepy, the part that keeps me up at night is trying to figure out exactly what caused such a diehard Duran Duran Devotee to cast aside his/hers/its obviously-loved and well-maintained fanbook, I mean what was it that pushed this person over the edge and caused them to say "To hell with Duran Duran" and then fling their prized possession to the four winds, or was it unintentional? was there a struggle? is there an overly-hairsprayed Duran Duran fan with a duct-taped mouth being menaced in Rural South Carolina somewhere? Dear God, the horror, the horror!

How does he compared to Wrath James White?

I've read a fair amount of Ed Lee but only one full length novel by White solo and The Teratologist written by both and from what I see, Lee is a satirist and even, dare I say, a moralist who is poking fun of societal habits and attitudes by way of extreme body horror and most of the time with a kinky, twisted sense of humor (I still sometimes think to myself "Shake-a-Puddin'" and start to laugh (From The House)). White seems to go for the jugular with no apologies, there's more sadness in his words then Lee's but a sadness with real power. Oddly enough, with The Teratologist, I felt more White in the writing than Lee. Both writers definitely have a taste for warped sexual themes but I really should read more White before I analyze him. I'm currently working on his short story collection The Book of a Thousand Sins

Thanks for the great pics from the convention. Where did you acquire the jacket prototype? Love the copper plate, really wanted to get one since they are very unique, had to keep repeating my mantra "you can't own everything"

The jacket was part of Cemetery Dance's Unique Collector's Extravaganza 2013 and I don't think it was referred to as "prototype" but I couldn't think of a better word for it, this is the first time I ordered one of these and was very pleased with what I received, now that I have this one King plate, I want more

I haven't read the Garton book yet but I do have a proper hardcover copy that I snagged from someone's non-payment, now I can read the loose pages and not mess up the newness of the hardcover :)
I was apprehensive about the price but once I saw what I got, I was very pleased, I hope they offer another one sometime

So I ordered the First Shift signed copy from Hugh Howey's website and I told him I would order the other two Shift's when I could and he went ahead and sent me all three books, signed and dated for the price of one! I officially love him now :D

Does anyone know what the '13' signifies in Joe's signature? Or is it not a 13?

Some awesome books, Dead Cats does indeed look very interesting, so I stepped out for a sec and bought one.

13 is probably for the year, I have noticed he usually adds a date with his sig.

I have a lot of Joe's signatures and NOS4A2 is the only one with the 13 so I am assuming it is the year.
