Please post your ideas for the title of the "Writing Contest" chapbook. After a pre-determined amount of time we will close submissions and post a poll to vote on the better titles. Whoever submits the winning title will receive a $50 Cemetery Dance Gift Certificate that is good toward the purchase of ANYTHING in our online store!

Is there an underlying theme within said chapbook?

Nope! Just 3 pro's and 3 joe's, so to speak.

lol, not much point if I win the contest.... plus that has a little too much spike tv "Pros vs Joes" feel to it.

No seriously. 3 Pros and 3 Joes sounds great.

Is there a limit to the number of titles someone can suggest?

Not really, we probably won't pick more than one from a single person to go in the final vote though.

I'm going past just a title and pushing a concept. Make it a two sided chapbook. Side one will have the Clegg, Keene and Garton stories, The flip side the contest winners. Side one title The Authors the flip side The Wannabes.

When I win can I get a free chapbook too?

When I win can I get a free chapbook too?

Sure! I'll go add that to the rules / prizes.

I like Ri9ch's flipside idea, but I say Joes on one side and Pros on the other. Rich can have the free chapbook!!

I like Ri9ch's flipside idea, but I say Joes on one side and Pros on the other. Rich can have the free chapbook!! That sounds fair to me if they do a two sided chapbook with a different title.

To expand on my title on the very top it should say FROM THE WRITERS CORNER, then under that on each side the individual titles and just tjhe last names of the contributors. I like Pros and Joes too, nice and simple.

I think you need to a a prize for worst title too. Then I have a good chance of winning one too!!

How 'bout "Tasty Bits"

I like the ideas so far. Have a couple myself, as well:

Todays best and Tomorrow's Future

That could also be simplified to Today and Tomorrow, which was what initially popped into my head, though that might be a little too simplified.

Or perhaps something along the lines of Reader's Choice, Reader's Pick, Reader's Favorites or something like that.

I'm sure I'll have more ideas later, though who knows if they'll be any good, lol

In keeping with a cemetery theme, and since there will be six stories, maybe:
Six Feet Under

or maybe:
Six Stories Under
(Not sure if this one makes sense though)

I like "Six Feet Under" for its simplicity and association with the grave.

Two that come to my mind:

Quick Cuts - for the brevity of the stories

or

Old Dreams, New Nightmares - to play off the pro vs joe aspect.

We probably won't leave this open to terribly much longer, as we'd like to get a title chosen sooner than later, so get your entries in!

I don't like Pro's and Joe's personally. Seems too tongue in cheek from a humor standpoint when the subject matter is horror/suspense. I'm not a writer, but if I were a "Joe" and all excited to be semi-published for the first time then I wouldn't want to be referred to as "joe" when I show my friends, etc...

I think it's funny and it is the correct spirit of the book, but still kind of steals the thunder maybe. :)

My two cents....

"Dancing in the Dark"...... I thought it would fit on a few levels.... the dance between reader and writer, between master (Pro) and apprentice (Joe) ;) and Cemetery Dance of course...... Dark kinda speaks for itself.....

Closing submissions. I'll send the list around the office here and we'll pick out a bunch of them that we think could work (remember the title has to work with and be able to help sales). Then once we decide on a bunch of them I'll put up a voting thread for everyone to pick out their favorite.
