I'd agree. Still have to read this one, but if it's like anything else of his I've read it will be very, very good. Still need to get a copy of The Bleeding Season and Dreams the Ragman among others

Time for Douglas Clegg books. Could have done it late last night but was distracted by playing some Skyrim, lol

Love what is on the back on the DJ for this one. Never seen one anything like it. That strip of white towards the top is what remains of the paper from what used to be attacked to the DJ cover which was blocking out this art.

Nice haul, RJK! I really enjoyed Occasional Demons and thought it was a great looking book.

RJK1981
02-23-2012, 11:56 PM
Yeah, except for the Curran story I loved Four Rode Out, especially Brian Keene's story. I think with the Curran story that the style or language he uses in this setting just doesn't grab me so much as I felt the same about The Corpse King. Not that I disliked them, but just didn't get into to them. I will have to read them again and see if I just wasn't in the right mood for them. Anyone read these and other Curran titles that could tell me if they read differently?

I do agree that Occasional Demons looks great. Still have yet to read it though

Most of my collection isn't all that valuable when it comes to money (Limited IT and Bad News being the most valuable probably, followed by The Passage), but that is ok, not expecting it to be really valuable for a while and not looking to sell it anyway

I thought Curran's Skull Eater's Campaign was the highlight of the book. I really liked the mystical ending. I've read about half of Ocassional Demons and I really like it. Last Exit for the Lost and Secret Back are just amazing.

Have a few more books to display, including my newest acquisition. But first, a few of my fantasy books from the Dragonlance world of books, most from Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. All of these are just plain trade paperback books (including 1 library copy), so nothing special to speak of here really. Have quite a few more of these Dragonlance books but still have to get them entered into my Access database

Once I got my new bookcases set up here after moving I finally found a way to have my magazines organized, which is between some Michael Whelan dragon statues I have

6518

And I finally received a new item today and am very pleased with it!

6519

Now I just need to find a frame that'll be able to display these prints. Will have to go try Michael's most likely as I don't like any of the frames available at the Target stores by my place and work. Their frames are fine for pictures, but haven't seen one I like for displaying the art prints I have

I like my bookshelves too. They are definitely not anything special though, that is for sure. They cost me around $15 each and are only 3 shelves each, but they look nice and aren't falling apart, lol. I only had one when I moved, but once I knew they were crap and didn't have any problem surviving a move I bought another, and if I move again this year into a bigger apartment in the same complex I'll probably buy another 1 or 2. I have a 5 shelf just like those as well, but I like these ones better as they move easier and can have stuff displayed on top of them and on the walls above them

Just picked this up from the post office this morning. Actually found it at an affordable price. I'd love to have the other 2 books from the first Maelstrom set, but those are likely going to be a lot more expensive since Brian Keene limiteds tend to cost more than a lot of others.

or 4, or 5, or 6 ... but, they're not the same ... exactly ... are they ... nope .... ;)

lol, nope. The specific one that have been mentioned with that is The Passage since I have 3 copies, 2 of the trade (one signed) and one of the CD slipcased LE ones. Only heard the question of why I had 3 copies 3 times, twice from my wife (though the first time she was just my girlfriend, lol, think it was before I had even proposed) and one recently from another woman who was visiting along with another friend. Oddly enough I had two CD Gift Editions of Full Dark, No Stars and no one has asked about that one, lol. No questions about the two copies of IT in the living room, though they of course don't look alike

Grant Wootton
04-10-2012, 05:58 AM
hehehehe .. cos they just don't understand that each copy is different from the other(s) ... Connies asks me that question all the time (with me, the major one has been FDNS - I have five different states - including the UK & US 1st/1st, the CD Gift, Limited and Lettered editions, plus 2 Limited editions remarqued by Glenn Chadbourne, plus4 Gift editions remarqued by Glenn, Anne Bauman and Alan Clark - and an SK flat signed US 1st).
