Howdy Folks!

Tomorrow, on Saturday April 14th, we will begin our Reilly’s Dream horror book auctions on eBay to raise funds for my daughter Reilly’s People to People Student Ambassador trip to Europe in June.

Some of the most respected authors in the horror genre have donated signed books solely for these special fund-raising auctions. During the past few weeks, we have received dozens of rare and out-of-print books signed by the following folks:

Joe R. Lansdale
Brian Keene
J.F. Gonzalas
Jack Ketchum
Kealan Patrick Burke
William Ollie
Ronald Malfi
Ramsey Campbell
F. Paul Wilson
Michael Knost
Lisa Morton
Ray Garton
James Newman
Brett ,McBean
Maurice Broaddus
Gord Rollo
Bryan Smith
Rick Hautala
T.M. Wright
John R. Little
Jonathan Maberry
Gene O’Neil
Ronald Kelly (me!)
Mark Justice
Scott Nicholson
Nancy A. Collins
Kelli Owen
Nate Southard
Jason Brannon
Keith Minnion

I will begin listing these books on eBay at 6:00 pm Central Time on the 14th. Each auction will have a 7-day time period (to allow folks time to gather funds if necessary). Also, I’ll be adding more books throughout the following week, since I have quite a few donations rolling in from the good folks at Cemetery Dance, Bad Moon Books, Overlook Connection, and Thunderstorm Books.

I’ll post the links to interested bidders on Saturday night. All proceeds from these auctions will go toward Reilly’s airfare, accommodations, meals, etc. while she tours and studies in France, Italy, Switzerland, and Austria for three weeks (and she’s only 14!)

If you’d like to hook up with some awesome books and help a great cause in the process, be sure to check back here tomorrow night for further details.

Many Happy Nightmares!

Ron

Tonight I've listed a special item on the Reilly's Dream Horror Book Auctions. This is a first printing hardcover edition of MINE by Robert R. McCammon (Pocket Books - 1990). It is from my private collection. It is signed by McCammon and inscribed "To Ronald". Along with this signed book, I will include a printed and signed (by me) account of my first meeting with Rick McCammon and my recollections of the Tower Books signing where we met in Nashville in 1990. This book, signed from one author to another, is a special keepsake that I am willing to part with to benefit my daughter in this fund-raising auction.

Eighteen of the book auctions will be ending tonight between 6:00 and 10:00 Central time. I'm hoping for a battle royal on some of the more desirable items (for Reilly's sake, of course.) For those of you who have bids in, shake hands and come out slugging!

Last night's eBay auctions brought over $750 in sales for Reilly's trip. We're starting out on solid ground and still have quite a ways to go. This is extremely encouraging; seeing so many folks willing to help Reilly live her dream and acquire some rare, signed books in the process.

The books that didn't sell last night, we relisted at a reduced price. Also I have boxes of books coming from Cemetery Dance, Overlook Connection, and Bad Moon Books this week, so we should have a fresh run of new books for folks to bid on tomorrow and Tuesday. :)

Thanks to all of you for bidding on the books and congrats to the winners so far! It's great seeing some of my CD forum pals hooking up with some of these nice, signed books. The writers who donated these books not only gave them to help my daughter with her trip, but did it for the fans as well. I think they deserve a huge round of applause for their generosity.

BTW, those eBay bidders who ordered the Beneath the Bed story, I will be sending your copies along with your books. I just finished the artwork and printed some up today and they look super nice, if I do say so myself. :)

And for anyone out there who [I]hasn't[I] ordered a copy of the special edition story, I still have plenty left (hint, hint). Just give me a holler and I'll be glad to fix you up.

As of this afternoon, the balance owed on Reilly's People to People Student Ambassador trip account is zero. We did it, folks. It was a long, rocky road, but through hard work and perseverance, my daughter is off to Europe on June 12th. Thanks to all who gave generously at the various fund-raisers: spaghetti dinners, bottle cap jewelry, yard sales, etc. And I'm incredibly grateful to the authors and fans who participated in both the Beneath the Bed story fundraiser and the Reilly's Dream Horror Book Auctions, which, combined, raised a total of $3,490. We're still raising money for Reilly's souvenirs, trip clothing, and a phone with international service that she can call and text home on. But the big daddy amount is taken care of... and Ol' Ron is expelling a huge sigh of relief right now. :)

Thanks, Squire. I'm glad you liked them.

For anyone else interested, I still have plenty of copies of the numbered left. Just give me a holler. :)

I relisted the BMB books last night at reduced prices on 5-day auctions, for anyone who's interested. We'll be using this money for Reilly's souvenir money, clothes for the trip, etc.

Thanks! :)

This book was just donated by the good folks at Cemetery Dance to help raise funds for my daughter's trip to Europe. If you're interested in bidding on this creepy little treasure (which is no longer available throught he publisher), you can check out the listing here:
