Ok we're going to try this again. This time I've made it about 100 times as hard. I've hidden 2 of the following image on not only the CD forum but the entire CD website.

http://forum.cemeterydance.com/zombie.gif

You must find both images to win the prize. Once you've found them post a link to their locations here and you win. The prize will be the same as last time, A No-Tip Copy of The Strain. Good Luck!

Edit: Since this is proving to be difficult. DON'T post the locations. Send me a PM with them and I'll hook the first two people that find them both up with a prize. Obviously the first person to find them will get the No-Tip Strain. I'll think of something for the second person to find them.

Thanks everyone! So, I already have a copy of The Strain and Dan has allowed me to donate the prize to somebody else on the Forum. If you are interested, please PM me and include a number from 1 to 100. I am trying to find a fair way to get this to somebody who doesn't have a copy and would like one to keep for their collection. I will select the person who comes closest to a pre-selected number between 1 and 100. Dan is able to ship internationally, so all of the Forum members are eligible. All I ask is that you only PM me if you haven't previously ordered it and you want to keep it for yourself. I would like this to go to a good home and not end up on eBay, for example... Good luck and thanks to Dan for allowing me to donate this to a deserving individual!

Forum member saginawhorror hit it exactly at 62. I was surprised that someone got the exact number and the fact that several others were extremely close as well. I used a random number generator to pick any number between 1 and 100 and it came up with 62.

Congratulations to saginawhorror. I hope you enjoy your new book! :D

Rule 42 - all persons more than a mile high must leave the courtroom.

"He had 42 boxes all carefully packed
With his name printed clearly on each
But since he omitted to mention the fact
They were all left behind on the beach" - Lewis Carroll, "The Hunting of the Snark"

And of course it's the answer the ultimate question of Life, the Universe, and Everything.

Dan Hocker
03-29-2012, 08:11 PM

I've sadly never gotten around to reading Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. It's been on my "To Read" list for awhile. And I don't think the 9 times 6 thing was in the movie.

srboone
03-29-2012, 08:25 PM
No, it's in the sequel (if it ever gets made). But 9x6=42 is perfect Adams!

TerryE
03-29-2012, 08:49 PM
I think it's even more perfect that the computer took 7.5 million years to figure out 42 was the answer. Then they had to build an even bigger computer to find the question.

I purposely did not choose a number like 42 or 19 since I wanted it to be truly random though. I'm still surprised how many people were so close to the actual number and that one person got the number exactly.

We have bunches of people each day filling up at service stations and driving off without paying (despite the majority of stations having CCTV and the odds of being caught being astronomical) .. Then again, in this economy, where petrol is costing $5,69 a gallon (had to use the interwebby for a conversion) I suppose it's understandable ... :(

It's around 3.65 a gallon around me in Minnesota right now. Gas prices will end up dropping again before too long, though probably go up in summer or stay the same. The "experts" have predicted US national averages of $5/gallon or higher for the summer for a couple years now and it hasn't happened yet. The higher the prices, the less gas is used and purchased which means less money being spent on it.

It's quickly approaching $4.00 here. And our fine governor wants to add a 6% sales tax to it, because he thinks that's easier than spending less money.

Sales tax on gas? Sounds like a good way not to get re-elected and maybe even to have voters try and recall his ass for trying to pull that kind of shenanigan

High gas prices this time of year during a presidential election year is going to be the norm.Watch gas will drop right before the election to make the president look good.It has been done the last 2 presidential election cycles. It is the new way for the government to look good.See what we did for you reelect us.We keep falling for it.
Maybe Mindy could run for president. She does such a great job keeping things moving along at CD.Maybe she could do the same for our country.

I thought it was the highest here to be honest, was surprised to see my aussie friend up there paying more. They are predicting ours to hit $2/liter by some point in the summer since it always goes crazy high then. That about $7.57/Gallon. We have regulated prices so they can do what they want. Last year the gov't used the interrupter clause and sent it way back down to something like $1.10/litre...hopefully they'll come through again if it gets much higher.

Actually the prices have more to due with demand and world events and not politics. When prices dropped last time there was president who could benefit from it. The crap with oranges is what has prices so high right now. And I might just have to vote for Mindy, that sounds like a good idea!

We might have an orange crisis also.due to winter returning after a week of 80's.Maybe if we figured out how to turn oranges into fuel the polititions will say that is why oranges are priced high like they did with corn.Buy the way demand for gas is down and we export more gas then import.the whole system is a mess.MINDY CAN YOU PLEASE FIX IT FOR US???:o

We're going a little OT here :)
If someone's interestede in Italy car gas is at 1.990euro/litre. According to wikipedia on 5 march 2012it was at 1.77euro/litre which was 0.759 euro (initial price) + 0.704 euro (taxes) and 0.3 euros (vat). taxation of the taxes... yay ! the worst thing is that these taxes includes all sort of "contributions" including 3 wars (etiopia 1933 (!!!), lebanon 1983 and bosnia 1996) for 0.11 euros, and 5 national calamities (earthquakes and floods in 1963,1966,1968,1976,1980) for 0.10 euros all of which should have been removed a long time ago... Then there are "culture" contribution, a contribution to buy electric buses (AFAIK public transposrtation are all privete companies...) and others...
Is there a similar situation somewhere else in the world ?

BTW today's at 10 it was a lovely 21C outside :) and in march in the middle of the Alps its quite strange ! Need to hydrate my skin with some beer :)

:) IIRC a gallon is about 3.5 litres, 1$ is about 0.75 euros, vat is value added tax(a sort of sales tax. actualli is 21% of the sale price). long story short... 1 gallon of gas is about 9USD and about 60% of that (in Italy) are taxes :(
